Institute of Humanitarian Action
Lifesaving education for young people, wherever they are in the world.
The Institute of Humanitarian Action (IHA) is Atlantic Pacific’s education programme for schools, youth organisations and councils, funded by the Royal Docks, London. It brings lifesaving knowledge and skills to young people in and around water, from free online learning to sessions delivered in person by our instructors.
Drowning is preventable with the right information and skills. The IHA extends Atlantic Pacific’s training beyond our training centres, so that more young people can learn how to keep themselves and others safe.
Built on proven training materials
IHA learning is built on Atlantic Pacific’s own training materials, developed in line with global best practice. These include our sea rescue manual and our psychological first aid manual for sea rescue, which form the basis of every Atlantic Pacific course.
Ways to take part
IHA Online
Free access to the IHA online learning materials for any school, organisation or individual. Ideal for introducing young people to water safety and lifesaving at their own pace.
